You need an HR professional in the Netherlands and no reliable way to judge one.

Recruiters can send you Dutch HR CVs. Very few can tell you whether a candidate has genuinely run a reintegration file, sat opposite a works council, or held a line in a settlement conversation. If nobody on your side can test that, you are hiring on presentation.

Our consultants have done the job themselves. They calibrate the role against the real Dutch market, approach candidates through their own network, test them on live cases, and then build the offer, contract and onboarding so the hire starts on a compliant footing.

A fee you agree, not a percentage

The fixed fee is set before the search starts. Nobody has an incentive to steer you towards a more expensive hire.

Assessed by people who did the job

Capability is judged by a senior HR consultant, so you are not relying on a keyword match and a reference call.

The employment is right from day one

Probation, fixed-term and non-compete wording is built correctly, so you are not repairing the contract a year later.

Realistic market expectations

In practice

Three searches we ran

Anonymised mandates that show how the process plays out.

Nordic scale-up, 60 staff 01
The situation

The company had run a six month search for a Dutch HR manager through two agencies and rejected every shortlist. The brief had been written in the head office job architecture and matched no real Dutch role.

What we delivered

The role was rewritten against the Dutch market and a shortlist of four followed in under four weeks. The hire signed within the same quarter.

US logistics firm, 120 staff 02
The situation

A first HR hire was needed for a Dutch site that had grown from twelve to over a hundred people with no HR function. The real risk was putting someone junior into a role with genuine legal exposure.

What we delivered

Three candidates were presented with written assessments of what each could carry unsupported. The company hired a senior generalist and kept an advisor on call for the first six months.

Fintech, 25 staff 03
The situation

A Dutch HR business partner had already been selected internally, but the draft contract came from the parent company template and carried a probation clause that would not survive.

What we delivered

We rebuilt the offer and contract to Dutch standard, briefed the candidate on the differences, and handled registration and payroll input before the start date.

Client situations are anonymised. Names and identifying details have been changed.

Before you commit

Questions buyers ask us first

Fees, scope and how we differ from an agency or an EOR.

Do you recruit for all roles or only HR roles?

Search is for HR and people functions, which is where our consultants can genuinely assess capability. For other roles we support the hiring process, contracts and compliance rather than sourcing the candidates.

Are you a staffing agency or an employer of record?

Neither. We do not put your staff on our payroll and we do not supply temporary workers at volume. The person we find joins your own Dutch entity on your own contract.

How is the fee structured?

A fixed fee agreed before the search starts, not a percentage of the candidate's salary. You approve a known cost, and we have no reason to push the package upwards.

What if we have not set up a Dutch entity yet?

We can still help, but sequence matters. Entity, payroll registration and a contract framework belong before the first hire, and our HR Settlers work covers that groundwork.
